Britney's underwear!!!
Posted in: UncategorizedNow that i have your attention…
why is our country so screwed up?! i mean, how the heck did we get to this point?!
when we are in a war…when there are millions of people dying of AIDS…when hundreds of thousands of young girls are forced into slavery and prostitution all over the world…when militant religious leaders (Christian and non-Christian) are claiming their god-given rights to kill anyone who does not “see it their way”…
why in the hades do we see 15 minutes of “Britney is partying without panties again!” on our flippin’ news shows night after night!!!
it is maddening!
a lady at theedge e-mailed me the other day, and i think she had some great insights to this frustrating reality. here are her thoughts…
I receive MSNBC Breaking News updates on my computer at work. Yesterday I got the following update: “MSNBC Breaking News: 3,200 miners trapped in South African gold mine, official confirms.” All I could think about was, please Lord help those people. So I watched the news last night trying to find out what was happening to those miners and had they been saved. I did not see ONE story about those trapped miners, but I certainly did find out that Britney Spears didn’t show up to court for her hearing on the custody of her children and that she was out partying the night before after she dropped her kids off at Kevin’s house. Now don’t get me wrong…I know that Brittney needs our prayers to be able to turn her life around but…..3,200 PEOPLE WERE POSSIBLY DYING TRAPPED IN A MINE A MILE UNDER GROUND!!!! What is important in our world UNDER THE SUN!?!?!?! I woke up several times last night and all I could think about was if those miners were suffering, dying, or being saved. I prayed that the Lord would protect them and save them from harm. I just found out that so far 2,000 of them have been rescued. Thank you Lord for answered prayer. But my heart aches and I am angry as I see that our values and morals in our world have come so far down that we are intrigued by the comings and goings of a young girl who is famous and therefore more worthy of our attention than 3,200 poor South African miners who might be dying and have family that are in pain not knowing if their loved ones are alive! The reality of Ecclesiastes very much came alive for me yesterday. I just wanted to pass it on.
great thoughts Pam! you said it all.
peace. out.
